Lives are busy; much happens; many things take our attention; periods in life can be tough; and we can lose sight of what our needs are, or the needs of those around us.
Being able to truly connect with another person is a human need. However, not everyone feels really heard or understood.
My work aims to fully connect with you, and help you to connect with yourself. To enable the best for you, whilst working through any challenges, bringing about awareness and creating potential solutions or resilience.
Hi, my name is Chrissy. I’m a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist, Children and Young People Person Centred Counsellor, Life Coach and registered member of the BACP).
I work with individuals to benefit their personal mental health and wellbeing.
I also teach Mindfulness in schools and create other webinars and workshops to inform and benefit groups of individuals.
Our sessions are about you, not me, however it’s important you are comfortable and happy with your choice of therapist to engage with. So, if this information about me feels right for you, please do get in touch to arrange an appointment or to enquire further.
About me: Chrissy Norwich
I’ve had a lifelong interest and fascination in human behaviour, psychological development and its relation to health and wellbeing, and have over 25 years of learning within various personal development areas (see qualifications below). I also continue my own development with regular CPD to ensure my knowledge expands and is always relevant. This enables me to consider you as the whole person that you are [mind, body, emotions, spirituality] and your circumstances [past, present and future] in our work together.
I also have a professional background and multiple years of experience in Marketing and Project Management, working with many high profile brands and organisations, using my interest in psychology, which included mentoring personnel.
I have a passion for enabling therapeutic support and psychoeducation early in life to aid our future generation. On a part-time basis I work for Anna Freud, a child mental health research, training and treatment charity in London.
I work with Hertfordshire Mind Network, providing one to one sessions for adults, children and young people at The Sadie Centre in Letchworth, and deliver Mindfulness in schools.
I also see clients in my private garden room in Hitchin, in person and online, and deliver webinars.
I have a great respect for people who want to improve their situation, no matter how hard, hopeless and confusing that might seem. Recognising you may need help and reaching out is the first step to getting personal and effective support during difficult times. Having someone there for you to talk to, privately, can be such a release, and enables you to get in touch with your thoughts, feelings and desires, without others’ influences getting in the way. This non-judgemental space is for you to talk freely and openly about topics you may not have discussed with people before, or been able to process previously, which may be keeping you stuck in coping patterns and behaviours that are no longer serving you, or with new symptoms that present themselves.
For children and young people, see more information here.
For adults, see more information here.
I will provide you with dedicated time to connect with, identify, or retain, your sense of [authentic] self, safely, in a way, and timeframe, that’s right for you. I recommend consistent weekly sessions for you to feel the optimum benefit of this trusting therapeutic process.
For psychoeducation sessions, see more information here.
If you have any questions, please get in touch.
